Daniel C. Toledo has been a wildlife artist of 33 years. His passion for wildlife sparked while serving for the United State Marine Corps in the jungles of South Vietnam during the late 60's. He began his career as a wildlife artist specializing in predatory animals such as big cats, bears, birds of prey, and the noble creatures. His compositions reflect an extensive study of the animal's anatomy and their habitat.
He was a student of the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California and the Gemological Institute of America where he attained his diploma in jewelry arts in 1979. He has done many shows in the western United States and his works are in private collections throughout the world. Wildlife jewelry is at the forefront of his commissioned work today.
In November of 2002, Daniel was invited to participate in G.I.A.'s museum exhibition held in the Mikimoto Rotunda "In Celebration of Precious Wildlife". A collection of themed jewelry from the Victorian era to present day was shown. Fourteen pieces of Daniel's jewelry represented some of today's most current wildlife jewelry. Daniel has also been a judge for the past three years for the George A. Schuetz Design Competition at G.I.A.
