Brazilian Gems and Jewellery Trade Association (IBGM)
The Brazilian Gems and Jewellery Trade Association (IBGM) is a private, non-profit association founded in 1977 to serve every aspect of the country’s jewellery industry.
It is composed of 50 jewellery-related businesses that, together with several state associations, represent every facet of the industry, including manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and syndicates. IBGM has an office in Sao Paulo and headquarters in Brasília.
The association performs a wide range of services for its members. IBGM serve as the industry's permanent representative before the government, it provides technical expertise for the jewellery industry, conducts market research for its members and act as a mediator for business issues, informing about materials, human resources and design.
The IBGM is also the Brazilian representative at the CIBJO – The World Jewellery Confederation, headquartered in Italy, a member of the ICA – the International Colored Gemstones Association, based in New York and founder of ALAJOYAS, the Latin American Gemstone, Precious Metals, Jewellery and Accessories Federation, having exercised its first presidential mandate.
